1. I believe the purpose of a college education is to pursue a passion and gain knowledge of how to embrace it. When you go to college you go to learn about one specific subject area. The education enhances your ability to participate in your passion.
2. I believe the meaning of being educated is having a well rounded knowledge base and knowing specific details about certain areas. Knowing everything about one thing is not educated. It is more beneficial to know a little about quite a few things and also have a specific knowledge of something.
3. The experiences that have led me to this are that I have taken a few "tests" in psychology that test you on general information. If you only know stuff about one subject it is going to be a problem for those kinds of tests. I tend to do well on those because I have a wide knowledge base.
